Current Projects
The Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is currently working on the following projects:
Tsunami Debris Removal
As debris from the 2010 Tsunami in Japan arrives on our beaches the Olympic Peninsula Chapter is working hard to keep our beaches clean. In addition to beach cleanups, the chapter has been working to educate the public through workshops and presentations for the public. We are also taking an active role in the development of a tsunami debris response plan.
The Sanicans
Placement and support of the sanicans at the Elwha River and Twin Rivers access sites.
Elwha River Restoration
Now that the dams have largely been removed, the chapter continues to help spread the word about scientific findings as this once wild river slowly returns to its origins.
