OPC Offers Scholarship to Local High School Seniors

Understanding the value of what our youth bring to our oceans, waves, and beaches, the Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation has offered a 500 dollar scholarship to local high school seniors. The chapter has been privalaged to have local students being involved in our beach cleanup and water quality efforts and the need to give back to the community and to those working for a clean shoreline was apparent, which is why the scholarship has been offered. Below is more information on the scholarship itself and how to apply.

While completing her master's degree in Sustainable Development & Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland, Liz taught sustainability to undergraduate students while also volunteering as a docent at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum’s Ocean Hall. As Surfrider's Washington and Alaska Regional Manager, she supports the organization's five Washington chapters, three BC chapters, and Kenai Peninsula Chapter in their amazing work.
